FASHION SHOW "TURKESTAN
AVANT-GUARDE" IN LIVADIA PALACE
On June 5, 2026, a fashion show featuring Natalia Naftalieva’s new collection, "Turkestan Avant-Garde," took place at the Livadia Palace as part of the "Fashion Agons" festival. Natalia Naftalieva’s "Turkestan Avant-Garde" collection is dedicated to a unique artistic phenomenon that emerged nearly a century ago. The looks in the collection are inspired by the experiments of early 20th-century Russian avant-garde artists, as well as the spirit of industrialization and the dynamic transformations that characterized the early years of Soviet Russia.
Drawing upon the unique legacy of the Turkestan Avant-Garde artists—as well as the distinctive patterns and color palettes of traditional *suzani* textiles and carpet-weaving traditions—and finding further inspiration in the dynamism and technocratic nature of the modern world, Natalia Naftalieva has crafted a fusion of athletic and ethnic fashion styles. The geometric motifs of silk robes, paired with sporty jumpsuits and headscarves, embody a spirit of stylistic innovation; in her collection "Turkestan Avant-Garde," Naftalieva bridges the past and the future of both Russia and Central Asia.
